Ruth G. Ramsey, M.D.S
Ruth G. Ramsey, MD graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1964, after completing the first year of Medical School at the University of Illinois. Her BS degree is in Medical Science. Dr. Ramsey completed Medical School at the University of Illinois after four years in 1998. This was followed by an Internship at the Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL. Radiology Residency was at the Wesley Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL, a part of the Northwestern University Hospital Medical system. This was followed by two years at Chanute Air force base while her husband was a Major in the Air force.
Dr. Ruth Ramsey worked at the Carle Clinic and at the Air force Base from 1972-1974. This was followed by a one year Fellowship in Neuroradiology at Rush-Presbyterian St.-Luke’s Hospital. Dr. Ramsey then worked for 12 years on the staff at Rush, advancing from Assistant Professor to Full Professor. Dr. Ramsey then worked at The University of Chicago for 11 years from 1989-2000 as the Head of the section of Neuroradiology. For the past 9 years Dr. Ramsey has worked as Medical Director of Premier Health Imaging, with an office at MRI of River North in Chicago. Dr. Ramsey has given well over one thousand lectures, written over 60 articles and book chapters and been the sole author of 5 books in the field of Neuroradiology. She is active in radiology politics as well as teaching and working full time.
